After developing "The House was 'Destrolled'" project, I must admit I was tired. It was no easy task to follow a group of teenagers doing drugs, listening terrible life stories, or asking you for money and constantly saying "no" because you knew exactly what they were going to use it for. At least not after six months. So one friday I decided I wanted something else, more cheerful, and it seemed Facebook was listening - your friend is going to... and so I began stalking, wondered who went to a reggaeton party, a.k.a. perreo, as a reference to the movements of a couple of dogs ("perros" in spanish) copulating. I decided to go for it. I wanted to see for myself.
Surprised to find so much diversity and tolerance, all joined by a music genre oftened criticized, I began meeting people; LGBTQ community members, people involved in crime, contemporary dancers, feminists, teenagers who weren't supposed to be there, singers, fashion entrepeneurs, immigrants, professionals... young adults searching for affective & erotic satisfaction and gender identity reinforcement through reggaeton culture in Mexico City. And so I realized R&P was a chance, a phantasy, a game.
As mentioned before, R&P emerged after the production of The House was "destrolled".
